APV is happy to announce that 2 live EARA Media Training sessions have been confirmed for 2025. There is a limit of 40 people for each session. Registration is open for both sessions, so if you are interested, please register early.
Session 1 – 23 January 3pm EST https://eara-media-training-APV1.eventbrite.co.uk
Session 2 – 28 February 12pm EST https://eara-media-training-APV2.eventbrite.co.uk
EARA's online media training for the Association of Primate Veterinarians will help staff communicate the importance of ethical breeding of non-human primates (NHPs) for scientific research. Monkeys are indispensable for drug testing, vaccine development, and understanding human-specific diseases, but the research community faces continued challenges regarding their use, transport, and regulation.
The media training will equip participants to effectively communicate NHPs' significance in research, empowering them to navigate challenges and advocate for the continued NHP breeding and biomedical studies, as currently there are no alternative methods able to fully replace them. Our tailored media training will equip Noveprim to effectively communicate the significance of NHPs in basic research and clinical studies and the importance of their ethical and regulated breeding.
Anticipated outcomes include enhanced communication skills, awareness of regulatory and transport challenges, engagement opportunities with experts, and the promotion of long-term media strategies to support NHP breeding. Attendees receive certificates, media handbooks, and transparency checklists from the European Animal Research Association (EARA).
