• Promote the development and standardized use of assessment tools for nonhuman primate housing.

  • Make assessment tools readily available to the community to allow for standardized evaluation approaches and data sharing.

  • Promote the inclusion of technical (care and research resources) stakeholder inputs on designs and features in these assessments. 

  • Create a repository of current updated assessment tools.  

  • Create opportunities for inter-facility collaboration and the sharing of data generated from assessment tool usage.

  • Disseminate findings and recommendations for novel housing design to the research community and primate housing manufacturers.

  • Share periodical (minimally bi-annual) updates of consortium goal progression and data trends.
